About

Hi, my name is Lore Green and I live in Peterborough in the UK with my three fur babies. I love papercraft, sewing, quilting, needle felting, mixed media and creating home décor projects. I love to mix and cross-over different crafts and I am enjoying mixing in some creative writing into my crafting, for example, creating poems and cards from vintage book pages. I am a Blog Ambassador for a craft tv channel called Hochanda www.hochandablog.com and I will soon be starting as a Design Team Member for Simply Vintage Designs http://simply-vintage-designs.blogspot.com/.

I’ve been crafting for years, my Nan was an avid crafter and enthusiastic artist and threw herself into numerous crafts and I was fortunate enough to have learnt and crafted alongside her for many years. Crafting has a special place in my heart, largely because of its association with my Nan.

I was always creating something when I was younger but as I got older I focused more and more on my studies and left my creative side behind when I left for university. Whilst I was at University I became quite ill and after several years of seeing doctors with puzzled looks on their faces they came to the conclusion that I had, and still have, Lupus and Sjogren’s Syndrome which are both autoimmune diseases. Later, Fibromyalgia was added to the mix and after years of chronic illness and disappointments, as I tried to adjust to a future so far from the one I imagined, I developed depression and anxiety. The one positive from all these challenges and changes was that I fell back on my creative side and found huge comfort and inspiration in various arts and crafts.

I started a couple of blogs a few years back and loved the process and the blogging community but I struggled to maintain them after a series of major flare-ups. I hope now to re-engage with the crafting and blogging community and share my creative journey as I try to craft a life through the storms of illness. I hope to share my makes, write some tutorials and post free patterns/templates created by me for anyone to download.

Please feel free to comment, share and get in touch.

P.S. I will occasionally post pictures of my three fur babies – I just can’t resist showing them off! Here’s the first of many photos:
