From B&M Candlestick to Felt Poppy Wreath for Remembrance Day

Hi, I found this candlestick holder/ring in B&M and thought it would make a great base for a wreath. I added some of the felt poppies and leaves from the templates that I included in the felt poppy post to the ring.

I hand stitched ‘In Remembrance’ onto a strip of calico and then attached it to a wide band of ribbon that I put across the wreath. I also added die-cut spitfires to the ends of the ribbon. To finish I placed a battery operated tea light in the holder, with all that felt it’s only suitable for battery operated/LED lights.

This is a super easy upcycling project that just needs some felt, ribbon, calico, thread and a glue-gun. If you feel like you want to have a go and make some felt poppies of your own you can get the template and step-by-step instructions on this earlier post https://lore-green.com/2019/10/24/make-your-own-felt-poppy-for-remembrance-day/
